Automatically assign barcodes (EAN/UPC) to new products

Selro provides a convenient way to automatically assign barcodes to newly created products using the Barcode Management system.

By uploading a CSV file containing unused UPC or EAN barcodes and enabling automatic barcode assignment, Selro will automatically allocate a barcode whenever a new product is created.


📍 Step 1: Open Barcode Management

Navigate to:

  • Inventory

  • Barcode Management


📤 Step 2: Upload Your Barcode File

Within Barcode Management:

  1. Select Actions

  2. Choose:

    Upload new barcodes


📄 Step 3: Prepare Your CSV File

Your barcode CSV file must contain only the following columns:

UPC,EAN

⚠️ Important:

  • Do not add additional columns or fields

  • Ensure the CSV contains valid unused barcodes only


⬆️ Step 4: Upload the CSV File

Upload your prepared barcode CSV file into Selro.

Once uploaded, the barcodes will be stored within the Barcode Management system and made available for automatic assignment.


⚙️ Step 5: Enable Automatic Barcode Assignment

After the upload is complete:

  1. Navigate again to:

    • Inventory

    • Barcode Management

  2. Enable the setting:

Automatically add unused barcodes to new products


✅ Finished

Once enabled, Selro will automatically assign an available barcode to each new product you create.

This helps streamline product creation and ensures your products are ready for marketplace listings quickly and efficiently.
