Selro allows you to manage EU customs product identifiers for products in your inventory. These identifiers help shipping carriers provide the product information required for customs declarations when sending goods to customers in the European Union (EU)
You can update these details individually through the product editor or in bulk using a CSV file.
What Are EU Customs Product Identifiers?
The following product identifiers are used for EU customs declarations:
Identifier | Description |
Merchant Product Identifier (SKU) | Your unique inventory SKU used to identify the product in Selro. |
Manufacturer Product Identifier (MPN) | The manufacturer's part or model number assigned to the product. |
Barcode (GTIN / EAN / UPC) | The product's standardised barcode identifier, where available. |
No GTIN | Indicates that the product does not have a standardised barcode identifier. |
Important: If a product does not have a GTIN, EAN or UPC, you can select the No GTIN option instead of entering a barcode.
Method 1: Update EU Customs Identifiers for an Individual Product
Step 1: Open the Product
Log in to your Selro account.
Navigate to Inventory → Products & Listings.
Search for the product using its SKU or product title.
Open the product to access the Edit Product page.
Step 2: Navigate to EU Customs Identifiers

Enter the manufacturer's part or model number.
This field is linked to the product's Manufacturer Part Number in Selro inventory.
Barcode (GTIN / EAN / UPC)
Enter the product's barcode, if available.
This field is linked to the product's existing barcode information in Selro inventory.
No GTIN
If the product does not have a GTIN, EAN or UPC, select the No GTIN checkbox.
Only select this option if the product genuinely has no standardised barcode.
Step 4: Save the Changes
Click Save at the top of the Edit Product page.
The updated identifiers will be saved against the product in Selro inventory.
Method 2: Bulk Update EU Customs Identifiers Using a CSV File
Selro allows you to update EU customs identifiers for multiple inventory products at once using a CSV file.
Step 1: Open the EU Customs Identifiers Section
Log in to your Selro account.
Navigate to Inventory → Products & Listings.
Open any product to access the Edit Product page.
Click More → EU Customs Identifiers.
Click the Bulk Update button on the right-hand side of the EU Customs Identifiers section.
Step 2: Prepare Your CSV File
Create a CSV file with the following column headers:
sku,mpn,barcode,nogitn
Column | Description |
| The existing inventory SKU in Selro. This is used to identify the product to update. |
| The manufacturer's part or model number. |
| The product's GTIN, EAN or UPC, where available. |
| Indicates whether the product has no standardised product identifier. |
Example CSV file:
sku,mpn,barcode,nogitn
ABC100,MPN100,5012345678900,false
ABC101,MPN101,5061234567890,false
ABC102,MPN102,,true
ABC103,MPN103,012345678905,false
For products that do not have a GTIN, EAN or UPC, leave the barcode field empty and set nogitn to true.
For products that have a barcode, enter the barcode and set nogitn to false.
Step 3: Upload Your CSV File
Click Bulk Update.
Select your prepared CSV file using the upload option.
Submit the file to start the bulk update.
Selro will match the products using the SKU column and update the corresponding EU customs identifier information in your inventory.
Step 4: Verify the Updated Information
Once the bulk update has completed:
Search for a product included in your CSV file.
Open the product editor.
Navigate to More → EU Customs Identifiers.
Check that the MPN, barcode and No Standardised Product Identifier values have been updated correctly.
Important Information
The SKU must match an existing inventory product in Selro.
Do not create or invent manufacturer part numbers or barcodes.
Use the No Standardised Product Identifier option only when the product genuinely has no GTIN, EAN or UPC.
Preserve leading zeros in barcode values when preparing CSV files.
For products with variations, use the appropriate variation SKU and identifiers where supported.
The CSV bulk update is intended for updating existing inventory products.
